Air-to-Air Refuelling Pod Design Digitisation

Enabled controlled transition from legacy designs to production-ready digital product definition.

Eaton Mission Systems required rapid digitisation of legacy hand drawings to support a US Air Force Air-to-Air Refuelling Pod programme.

The Work Package included configuration control and manufacturability risk reduction across an underwing pod containing a complex fuel system. KDC operated as a delivery partner under a fixed-price, task-driven model, converting designs into controlled 3D CAD and production drawings, integrated within the customer’s PLM environment.

This reduced rework risk, improved design assurance, and enabled confident progression through manufacture, certification and in-service support.

REQUIREMENT

Eaton Mission Systems were awarded a contract by the US Air Force which required the digitisation of  legacy hand drawings into CAD models of their Air-to-Air Refuelling Pod product and its Fuel System.
