Signing the covenant reinforces our commitment to ensuring that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, along with their families, are treated fairly and with respect.
The Value of Military Experience
People leaving the Armed Forces bring with them a wide range of skills and experience, from leadership and teamwork to problem-solving, resilience and technical expertise. These qualities transfer strongly into civilian roles, but the move from military to civilian life can still present challenges.
The Armed Forces Covenant exists to help address this, by encouraging employers to better understand the Armed Forces community and to create working environments where military experience is recognised, valued and supported.
A Commitment to the Armed Forces Community
By signing the Covenant, KDC Projects has pledged its support to the Armed Forces community and committed to recognising the skills, experience and values that service personnel and veterans bring to the workplace. This includes supporting fair access to employment, recognising transferable skills, and fostering an inclusive working environment for veterans, reservists and their families.
Why This Matters to KDC Projects
Supporting the Armed Forces community aligns closely with our values at KDC Projects, particularly our focus on integrity and professionalism. With veterans and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers already part of our team, signing the Covenant is a natural step that formalises a commitment that already exists within the business.
As an employer operating within the aerospace and defence engineering sector, we recognise the importance of strong links between industry and the Armed Forces. The Covenant provides a clear framework to help us strengthen those links, support career transition and development, and ensure that military experience is valued across our organisation.
What This Means Going Forward
Signing the Armed Forces Covenant is not a one-off action but an ongoing commitment. Moving forward, KDC Projects will continue to review and develop our employment practices, workplace culture and engagement with the wider Armed Forces community to ensure our support is meaningful, practical and long-lasting.
We are proud to play our part in supporting those who serve and have served, and we look forward to continuing this commitment in the years ahead.
