KDC’s Tour de Normandy

Last week, a determined group from KDC Projects completed our Tour de Normandy cycling challenge — a 200+ mile ride through northern France in support of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

The challenge tested both body and mind, with long distances, tough terrain and plenty of aching legs by the end. But more than that, it brought our team together around a shared purpose: raising money for a service that provides life-saving care across our region.

200 Miles, Three Days, One Goal

The ride began in Cherbourg, with Group 1 covering over 100 miles on day one as they made their way to Caen. The weather was mixed, the roads were hilly, and the day ended with some very tired legs — but spirits stayed high throughout.

Group 2 joined in Caen for the return leg, and together the team cycled another 100+ miles over two days back to the coast. From quiet country lanes to long coastal stretches, the route was as scenic as it was challenging.

There were a few sore knees, a couple of mechanical issues, and more than one energy bar consumed en route. Despite this the whole team finished safely, and with a real sense of achievement.

Supporting a Service Close to Home

We took on the Tour de Normandy in aid of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, who provide critical care across our region and rely entirely on charitable support. Their work is essential, and we’re proud to continue supporting them.
